Golden Dragons Answer Wildcats Comeback Attempt

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats deficit proved to be too much early Wednesday evening. Fort Valley State surged back into second half, but Lane College answered and took away the 84-64 men's basketball win.

Trailing by 20 points at half, FVSU (2-15/1-5 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) rattled off 11-straight points with buckets from four different players to pull to within 58-48 at the 11:34 mark. Lane (8-4/5-1 SIAC) regrouped with a big answer of the next 14 points and registered the eventual win back at the halftime margin.

Jaylin McMillan sliced his way to a Wildcat top-point mark of 21. K'Viontae Williams chipped in 12 points, while Shawn Foxbrennen just missed a double-double with 15 rebounds, 13 defensive, and eight points.

Brenton Cliette Jordan contributed eight points on 4 of 4 shooting and five rebounds off the bench.

Both Terrace Holt and Kendarius Ash totaled 17 points for the Golden Dragons.

FVSU will have five days off until it plays next Monday, Jan. 7, in a 3 p.m. contest at Spring Hill.
