FORT VALLEY, Ga. – After not playing up to par last Friday evening, the Wildcats reversed the outcome on Wednesday night. Fort Valley State used two strong opening set finishes and took control earlier in the third set of a 3-0 sweep of Paine College on the volleyball court.

After being swept by the Lions less than a week ago, the Wildcats (4-13/3-12 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East) held home court over the Lions (12-9/7-5 SIAC East).

Tied at 17 in the first set, FVSU netted the next five points and eight of the final nine points for the 25-18 victory. Down 17-15 in set two, the Wildcats, again, ran off 10 of the final 13 points to their credit to go ahead 2-0 in the match for the 25-20 win. FVSU went out to a 13-9 margin midway through the third set and never gave up the advantage in a 25-21 final.
