Wildcats Honor Five Seniors, Battle Tigers

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – Benedict College completed the season series sweep as it defeated the Fort Valley State volleyball team, 3-0, Senior Day at the HPE Arena Saturday afternoon.
 
After a successful Wednesday night result, the Wildcats (4-14/3-13 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East) could not match the result against the Tigers (17-10/9-6 SIAC East), which won their sixth match in a row.
 
Tied at 20 in the first set, Benedict ran off five of the next six points for a 25-21 win. The Wildcats held leads of 9-7 and then 12-11, but the Tigers went on a 10-3 spurt and eventual 25-18 victory. After the Senior Day festivities following the second set, Benedict came out tough to end the match via a 25-10 final.
 
FVSU honored its five seniors of Nia Bell, Rita Davis, Jordan Davis, Ashley Simmons-Blair and Ashaunti Brown.

India King – 5 kills
QuiAndra Moore – 3 aces, 2 digs

FVSU completes its SIAC docket with a Tuesday evening, Nov. 5, match at Clark Atlanta. First serve is at 6 p.m.
