Morehouse Bests FVSU Men’s Tennis

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – In a Friday afternoon doubleheader, Fort Valley State men's tennis saw both Maciah Dawson and Uriah Boyd win a match, but it fell as a team to Morehouse, 6-1 and 6-1.

Boyd and Dawson went three sets in the two Wildcats victories. In the opening match, Boyd won the first set, 7-5, before the Maroon Tigers' Vernard Littles claimed set two, 6-3. Boyd came back to edge an 11-9 third set victory. Uriah battled hard in the rematch, but Vernard prevailed 6-4 and 6-2.

Trailing one set (2-6), Dawson pulled out a 7-6 second set, before he defeated Justin Samples by a 10-5 tiebreaker. The FVSU senior improved upon his 0-6, 4-6 bout against Samples.

FVSU will be off until it hosts the SIAC Roundup next Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 21-23.
