FVSU Men’s Tennis Posts First Victory of Three Matches

 FORT VALLEY, Ga. – In the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Roundup, the Wildcats posted their first win of the year on Friday. Fort Valley State breezed past Lane College, 8-1, before both Benedict College and Tuskegee claimed wins in the other two matches.
 
The Wildcats (1-7) lost only one super set of the nine matchups. Five FVSU players won twice in the match, including individual shutouts of 6-0 and 6-0 by both Micaiah Dawson and Uriah Boyd. Henri Abrams teamed with Uriah Boyd at number one doubles for another 6-0 win, while Abrams won second singles (6-0, 6-1).
 
Benedict College won its match against FVSU, 6-0, while Tuskegee claimed an 8-1 win. Uriah Boyd had the lone Wildcats win with a 5-3 super set singles win over Tyler Mitchell.
 
The FVSU men continue their SIAC Roundup play on Saturday.
