The Wildcats (6-19/4-12 SIAC East) fell just short of posting their second two-game win streak on Monday night in Atlanta in a 72-68 decision at the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College. FVSU, though, has readjusted its sights since to evening the season series with Savannah State (9-12/9-9 SIAC East).

Coming a home Thursday night defeat (69-61) to Clark Atlanta, Savannah State takes a 2-2 mark in the last four games into the meeting with FVSU. The Tigers will look for the same ending recipe, which gave them an 82-77 win in Fort Valley on Jan. 18.

In the first meeting a month ago as the game was tied for the 13th time, Savannah State netted the next four points and edged out FVSU in the close five-point margin. Following a D'Angelo Strickland 3-pointer and a K'Viontae Williams jumper, the Wildcats held a 69-64 lead with 6:44 to go. The Tigers ran off the next nine tallies for a 73-69 advantage with 2:52 on the clock. FVSU pulled to within two, 73-71, on a pair of Andrew Ziegler free throws at 2:19, but Savannah State refused to give up the lead in the final two minutes.

The Wildcats complete their regular season with two home games next week with Clark Atlanta on Tuesday night (Feb. 25) and Morehouse College on Thursday (Feb. 27) both starting at 7:30 p.m.
