Macon Native Booker Set to Wear Wildcats Football Blue & Gold

5/28/2020 5:20:00 PM

**This signing release is the second of six talented late-spring Wildcats football signings, which will be released on the next two weeks. Wildcats fans can eagerly await for the following four players on what should be a very talented 2020 football roster starting with the third either June 1 or 2.

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – Another key transfer of the six late-spring to sign will help bolster the Wildcats offensive front line. Macon native Jayshaun Booker is set to wear Fort Valley State blue and gold on the gridiron this fall.

After being part of the highly-successful Notre Dame College program the past two seasons, both deep NCAA Division II playoff runs, Booker comes home to Middle Georgia with three years of eligibility to play.

"Like our signing class of high school seniors, these (six) guys (transferring to us) have played college football and had highly-successful high school careers with experience to compete for playing time immediately," explained Maurice Flowers, FVSU head football coach.

Booker, a Westside High grad, brings a new big presence to the Wildcats' offensive line at 6-4 and 310 pounds. The talented lineman will be one of the blockers to help FVSU return to a balanced offense and greatly increase its ground attack from last season.

"Jayshaun comes from one of the top 10 programs in NCAA DII at Notre Dame College. Booker adds another player from our back yard (in Macon) and a big aggressive mauler, who can play all three offensive line positions," said Flowers. "We were recruiting specific needs and think we met them. In our original signing class, we only had two offensive linemen and added big time quality with two more linemen (Booker and another lineman to be announced within the next week)."

The redshirt sophomore played scholastically for the Seminoles of Westside High. He is the son of La'Quta Pitts and Jeris Booker.
