FORT VALLEY, Ga. – It was a tough return to the Wildcats home arena Friday night. Benedict College prevailed, 3-0, over Fort Valley State on the women's volleyball court.

After the Tigers (10-7/5-4 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East) built leads in the opening two sets for 25-15 and 25-16 wins, the Wildcats (5-11/1-7 SIAC East) held a late 23-20 lead in the third set only to see the visitors rally for the final five points to end the match.

On the evening, Raven Edwards led the FVSU attack with five kills, six digs and an ace. Subbing as the setter, Laiani McCullough handed out 14 assists to go with six digs and two blocks. Elizabeth Moore and Naydiah Kornegay served up three and two aces.

FVSU has the rest of the weekend off until traveling to Clark Atlanta for a Tuesday night, Oct. 12, contest. First serve will be 6 p.m.
