Wildcats’ Bridges Signs with NFL Agent

11/10/2021 11:11:00 PM

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The next step in this Wildcats' dream was inked on Wednesday afternoon. Fort Valley State wide receiver Shemar Bridges signed with agent Robert Walker of Unlimited Success Sports Management, Inc. in next step of his preparations for 2022 National Football League draft.

In FVSU head coach Maurice Flowers' office, Bridges went over the NFL Players' Association contract and signed with Walker and his organization for upcoming representation.

"I am excited for this opportunity to sign with Mr. Robert Walker and Unlimited Success Sports Management, Inc. We developed a relationship for some months and got comfortable with him as a person before him as an agent. I feel signing with him to be my agent is the best decision for my future," said the Wildcats wide out.

Bridges continued, "I want to thank God first, my family, FVSU and all my coaches and teammates. I am thankful for all the FVSU support and the great time I have had here."

The FVSU senior was projected by NFL Scouting with an upcoming 5th to 7th round grade. It was not hard to see the 6-5, 210-pound Bridges potential since coming to The Valley.

"It has been a pleasure to get to know Shemar," stressed Flowers. "You don't often see a young man with the worth ethic and character he possesses and a true team leader. I look forward to the next phase of his career."

Over 16 games while wearing a Wildcats jersey, Bridges pulled in 92 passes for 1,358 yards (84.9 yards per game and 14.8 yards per catch averages) and seven touchdowns and five 100-plus yards contests.

In his first FVSU campaign, Shemar earned All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team honors. The Jacksonville, Fla., native grabbed 51 passes for 765 yards and four scores over the 10 games of the 2019 season. He caught seven passes against both Shorter and Savannah State for 122 and 129 yards in those games.

This spring's two games in mid-March and early April, Bridges had a pair of impressive road performances. At Shorter, the Wildcat had seven catches for 158 yards and a touchdown and he followed it with six passes for 143 yards and another touchdown two weeks later at Erskine University.

In what he hoped would be a dominating final year in Blue & Gold, Bridges played in only three-and-a-half of FVSU's 10 games. Late in the middle of the fourth quarter of Week 3, he was banged up and missed the next four weeks. After having 24 receptions for 249 yards in the first three weeks, Bridges added four more catches for 41 yards in the first half versus Clark Atlanta, before he missed the rest of the contest and the final two games. For the fall of 2021, Bridges finished with 28 catches for 292 yards and one score.

After graduating from FVSU in the middle of December, Bridges will dedicate himself to his preparations for February's HBCU Legacy Bowl to be held at Tulane University in New Orleans, La.

With the backing of his new agent, Bridges looks to continue his football career ascension into hearing his named called in the 2022 NFL Draft held Thursday through Saturday, April 28-30 and become the latest Wildcats alum to enter the NFL ranks.
