FORT VALLEY, Ga. – With a new defensive scheme in place, the Wildcats defensive secondary has good leaders at its base. Fort Valley State defensive backs Zach Anderson and Tyler Moore discussed Monday morning about their upcoming contest at Erskine College.

The two Wildcats defenders led the team against the opponents passing game and support with the run stopping. Anderson and Moore combined for 14 tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception in FVSU's 36-18 win first spring game at Shorter University on March 27.

An All-SIAC two-time performer, Anderson is the team's top returning tackler from 2019. He posted 61 tackles, 24 solo, three pass breakups, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. In his first year as a starter, Moore posted 40 tackles, 23 solo and six breakups, while he returned nine punts for 52 yards.

The two FVSU defensive backs and the defense will face a Erskine offense this weekend, which is averaging 16.8 points and 304.6 yards of total offense over five games.
