Wildcats Renew Series After 60 Years

Following 60 years of not meeting, FVSU and Allen renew their gridiron series on Saturday. In fact, the Wildcats seek their first victory in the ninth-game of the series between the SIAC foes. The Yellow Jackets hold a 6-0-2 mark in the meetings, which have not had another edition since the 1961 season.
The series has not happened since the 1961 campaign due to two football interruptions in the Allen program. The Yellow Jackets had two stints of not having football with the first from 1969-2000 and then again from 2006-2017 after a five-year return. Allen brought back football starting in 2018 where it went 0-6, before being 2-5 in 2019 and now 2-1 in the first three weeks of the 2021 season.

With Allen transitioning back into the SIAC, the ninth edition in the series will take place. In the eight previous games with the first being 68 years ago, there was only one final tally of more than 12 points.
1954 – Allen 20, FVSU 14
1955 – Allen 12, FVSU 0
1956 – Allen 6, FVSU 6
1957 – Allen 7, FVSU 0
