Golden Bears Holds Home Court Over Wildcats

FAIRFIELD, Ala. – After grabbing some late-game magic down the stretch Monday night, the Wildcats were unable to repeat the feat Wednesday. K.J. Doucet tried to lead a Fort Valley State scoring burst to start the second half, but Miles College answered with a big run to pull away and post a 73-43 men's hoops victory.

Trailing 35-17 at half, Doucet went to work and netted the first seven FVSU (2-11/2-4 SIAC East) points to cut it to 15 points, 41-26, at 15:51. After a Wildcats' Davorian Rudolph layup, the Golden Bears (10-3/5-1 SIAC East) rattled off a 16-1 run over the next 4:52 to pull away, 59-29, with 10:13 on the clock.

Doucet led all FVSU scorers with 16 points to go with three rebounds and three assists. Rudolph added six points and four rebounds.

The Wildcats connected on only 14 of 48 field goals (29.2%), while the Golden Bears made half of their shots (28 of 56).

Brandon Miller of Miles led all point producers with 18 points.

FVSU moves on to host Savannah State on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 15. Tip is set for 3 p.m.
