VALDOSTA, Ga. –
For the 2022 Wildcats, number one was a number of excellence. Fort Valley State's Emanuel Wilson and Tyler Moore earned D2 Conference Commissioner's Association Football All-Region 2 Second Team awards.

For the second year in a row, the FVSU gridiron program placed two individuals on the D2CCA All-Region team, which is voted up by the region's Sports Information Directors of each institution.
The two 2022 Wildcat number one jersey wearers, Wilson and Moore, helped their team to its most successful season in a decade at 8-2 and narrowly missed receiving a NCAA Division II playoffs invitation.

On offense, Wilson ran his way to being the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's top running back for the second year in a row. The Charlotte, N.C., native was voted both the SIAC's  Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, as well as, on the All-SIAC 1st Team. The running back also was selected as the SIAC Offensive Player of the Week three times.

For the first time in 18 seasons, Wilson became the first 1,000-yard rusher with 1,371 yards on 209 carries with 17 rushing touchdowns. He ranked in the NCAA DII top 10 in four different categories of all-purpose yards (6th, 161.0 ypg), rushing yards per game (7th, 137.1 ypg), rushing yards (7th, 1,371 yards) and rushing touchdowns (9th, 17 TDs). The SIAC's leader by over 34 yards per game on the ground, Wilson led the Conference in scoring (11.4 ppg) to go with being the top in the other rushing categories. He also pulled in 24 passes for 239 yards receiving and two more scores.

The redshirt junior registered his two 200-plus rushing games against two of the three best teams FVSU faced with 262 yards against Tuskegee, which was five yards short of the single game school record, and 221 yards versus Albany State. Even against the SIAC Champion and top seed in the NCAA DII Super Region 2, Wilson carried 20 times for 108 yards against Benedict College. Rounding out his accolades, Wilson was on the 2022 All-SIAC Preseason First Team and 2021 All-SIAC Second Team despite leading the league by over 30 yards per game a year ago.

Leading the improved Wildcat defense, Moore makes his first appearance on the D2CCA All-Region 2 team after he made his second All-SIAC Team of 2022 First Team and 2021 Second Team. The Ashburn, Ga., product paced the FVSU defense in tackles for the second year in a row at 6.5 per game (11th in SIAC) with 65. The senior also was fourth in SIAC in passes defended at 1.00 per game (10) and sixth in interception returns.

The strong safety registered 4.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, seven breakups and a fumble recovery. His highest tackle game of 10 came against SIAC Champ Benedict to go with a tackle for loss and two pass breakups. Moore added nine stops versus Kentucky State, a team-high eight tackles in win over Albany State and five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and an interception in win over SIAC West champion Tuskegee. The veteran defender has no less than four tackles in any game.
