Johnson and Wesley Shine for Wildcats at Auburn Track & Field Invites

AUBURN, Ala. – The Wildcats saw a pair put together outstanding performances on the track over the weekend! Fort Valley State's Emarion Johnson and Bashan Wesley shined at the Auburn University Track & Field Invitational.

The Johnson and Wesley duo combined for three top six placings and both part of another seventh-place relay team effort.

With the top finish, Johnson recorded a time of 14:45.77 for fourth place in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase event. In the jumps, Wesley leaped to fifth in the triple jump (14.35m) and sixth in the long jump (6.95m).

The Wildcat pair were the second and anchor legs along with Terrell Williams and Cornelius Cook for seventh in the 4x400-meter relay (3:41.21). Cook and Wesley started and finished the 4x100-meter relay with Kamecia Burgman and Jaleon Sands for sixth place (43.51), while the team of Jon Williams, Thaddeus Mitchell, Johnathan Kelley and Kentrelle Williams were right behind in seven (45.19) in the same event.

The FVSU track & field teams will host a meet in Brunswick, Ga., next Saturday, March 26.
