8/5/2022 11:49:00 AM

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – With the 2022 fall semester beginning in 10 days, the Wildcats added a solid recruiting class to the roster. Fort Valley State head softball coach Rufus Green announced his inaugural group of six recruits with three pitchers, two utility players and a catcher/first baseman.

After taking over in early January this season, Green and his staff put their efforts on the recruiting trail and came away with the talented group of pitchers Raven Webb of Alpharetta, Ga., Kryssi Maddox from Roberta, Ga., and Taylor Watson of Lowell, N.C., two utility players in Selena Linsenbach of Roberta, Ga., and E'Lisia Vickers out of Montrose, Ga., and catcher/first baseman Brianna Stephens (Kennesaw, Ga.) rounding out the group.

Last spring, Green led the Wildcats to 14 wins, two more than the previous year, and guided his team to a regular-season ending sweep of Clark Atlanta, before going 1-2 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with the two defeats coming to Champion Tuskegee and East Division champ Albany State.
