FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats busy week continued. Playing the third night in a row and first at home, Fort Valley State was edged by Claflin University, 3-0, at the HPE Arena Thursday night.

After Naadira Jones killed the points, FVSU (1-5) led 17-12 in the opening set only to see Claflin (3-0) run off the seven points and took a first set 25-23 win. Laiani McCullough killed a point and laced an ace to pull the Wildcats within 20-18 of set two, but the Lady Panthers scored the next three tallies and eventual 25-21 victory. Following a Morgan Gooden kill, FVSU tied set three, 14-14, but another Claflin run of six points helped it complete the match win, 25-20.
