It's homecoming in the Valley! With the hustle and bustle of campus activities, the Fort Valley State Athletic Association in conjunction with the Department of Athletics introduces two great opportunities to support Wildcat Athletics.

"THE GROWL" Radio Show featuring Coach Shawn Gibbs will air for the first time today at 6:30pm right here on campus, WFVS 96.9FM.

"I am so excited about the launch of this radio show. Wildcat Athletics will now be represented over the airwaves. It's a great time to be a Wildcat!" said Director of Athletics, Dr. Renae Myles Payne.

The show is hosted by award-winning news reporter, Carlos Williams. Carlos is a 1977 Fort Valley State graduate and spent forty plus years with Columbus-based television station WRBL News 3. The show will also air in Columbus on K92.7FM and ESPN 95.7FM and in Macon on V101.7. The show is being produced by students in the Department of Communications with Dr. Karlisha Booze-Cutts as their faculty lead and former Wildcat football player and media guru, Hollis Towns, as the consultant. FVSAA Board member, Dr. Alonzo Jones brokered the relationship between the Athletic Association and Davis Broadcasting for the time to get the show on the air. Please tune in at 6:30pm today to hear more about Wildcat Football from Coach Shawn Gibbs.

In addition to the radio show, the Athletic Association wants everyone to participate in elevating the experience of Wildcat student-athletes. The Homecoming 50/50 Raffle is for everyone! Buy as many tickets as you like! The money will be split between the Athletic Association and three winners whose tickets will be randomly drawn at the beginning of the fourth quarter during Homecoming.
