Wildcats Start Strong, but Lady Rams Rebound for Match Win

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The rival Wildcats and Lady Rams gave the HPE Arena crowd a quality show Friday night. After Fort Valley State started strong to claim the first set, Albany State rebounded for the next three sets to record the 3-1 women's volleyball win.

Following the first of Hallea Gibbs' match-leading 17 kills to tie the opening set at 2-2, Nakaia Berekley served up the next six points for the Wildcats (9-9/5-7 SIAC East) for an 8-2 advantage. Gibbs later downed a kill to extend the lead to 20-8 before she hit a winner for the final point, 25-14.

ASU (12-10/12-1 SIAC East) reversed the outcome in Set 2, 25-17, to tie the match at a set apiece.
