GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Wildcats newest program continue to improve and have become a tough out against stiff competition. Tusculum University held its home court in a hard-fought, 3-1, men's volleyball match over Fort Valley State Friday evening.

After the Wildcats (5-13) pulled back to within three late, 20-17, the Pioneers (7-12) split the final 10 points of the opening set, enough to close it out, 25-22. FVSU came back and held a slim 12-11 advantage in set number two and extended it to 16-11 on an Isaiah Fedd kill. The visitors continued to lead by six tallies, 21-25 and 23-17, before Taviian Martin killed the final point at 25-19.

Tusculum went out to a 10-3 early set three lead. FVSU came back to within three points three times – 12-9, 13-10 and 19-16 – but it could not get closer in the 25-20 final. The Wildcats led set four by two points eight times with the last coming at 13-11, before the Pioneers ran off the next five points and never gave up the lead to close out the match, 25-21.

Fedd finished with top FVSU honors with 12 kills, three assists, four total blocks and five digs. Martin was right behind with 11 kills and four digs. Jaxon Hicks added eight kills, six digs, two assists, an ace and a block, while Oshane Farquharson had five kills. Justin Yates contributed 32 assists, six kills, six digs and an ace.

Deklan Wingo led all attackers with 14 kills for the Pioneers.

FVSU moves on for a 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, March 18, match at Lincoln Memorial.
