FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats came out all 'roses' Tuesday afternoon. Tied in the home sixth, Tiffany Rose legged out a double in short right field and pushed home Riley Jenkins with Fort Valley State's winning run to prevail, 4-3, over Wesleyan College on the softball diamond.

After driving in the go-ahead run, Rose started the game-ending double play for the final two outs in the top of the seventh to clinch the Wildcats' victory.

On the afternoon, a trio of FVSU (15-17) players recorded six of the club's seven hits. Jenkins doubled twice to left field and scored a run in three at bats. Both Raven Webb and Laila Leverett finished 2 for 2 with one RBI apiece. Rose added the final hit with her double, while Hailey Bracey drove in the fourth home team run with a sac fly.

Kryssi Maddox picked up the win in the circle after she went the final four innings. She allowed three hits, one earned run and a walk to go with six strikeouts.

Sabrina Bowen lined a third-inning RBI triple to lead the Wolves.

After Bowen drove in the first run and second the second to give Wesleyan a 2-0 lead heading to the home third, the Wildcats received back-to-back two-out singles by Webb and Leverett to tie the contest, 2-2.

In the bottom of the fifth, Makayla Cruz walked, Mariah Williams was hit by a pitch and Webb walked, before Bracey drove the ball to center field for a sac fly and 3-2 lead.

Wesleyan tied the contest, 3-3, on a bases-loaded walk in the top of the sixth to set up the Rose key hit in the home side of the same frame.
