Wildcats Take Final Three Sets Over Golden Tigers, Fall Late to Badgers

ALBANY, Ga. – A pair of hard-fought five-set Wildcat victories this weekend. Trailing by two close sets, Fort Valley State rebounded with the next three sets for the 3-2 women's volleyball victory over Tuskegee University. The top league team Spring Hill College took the final match of the weekend, 3-0.
 
After the Golden Tigers outlasted the Wildcats 28-26 in the first morning set and held on for a 25-19 set number two, the Wildcats found themselves in a 2-0 hole. Trailing 10-2 in the third set, FVSU snapped out of it with a 12-1 run to take the lead (14-11) and continued the burst in a 20-3 overall margin for the eventual 25-15 third set final. The Wildcats went out to an 11-3 fourth set lead and never trailed (25-16) to even the match, 2-2. Behind 6-3 in the match-deciding set, FVSU ran off the next eight points and went on for the 15-9 final to capture the victory.

With the win, FVSU (6-8/3-6 SIAC East) has already equalled its win total from last season.
