ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats returned to the win column in a Sunday afternoon contest and their running back was a big part of it. Fort Valley State's Brandon Marshall garnered the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week honors announced Wednesday morning.

Leading 3-0 in the third quarter, Marshall ran four yards to start the drive and three plays later ran into the end zone from six yards for the game's first touchdown against Savannah State. After a quick three-and-out by the Tigers, Kelvin Durham hit Marshall with a 32-yard pass and then Marshall ran in his second 6-yard scoring run and the Wildcats went on for the 30-0 victory.

In less than three quarters of work, Marshall accounted for 142 yards of the team's 436 yards of total offense in the game. He carried the ball 14 times for 69 yards and the two touchdowns and pulled in a team-high five passes for 73 yards.

On the four-game season to date, the graduate student has touched the ball 88 times for 546 total yards and eight touchdowns. The Wildcat running back has rushed for 272 yards on 69 totes (68.0 yards per game) for five touchdowns. He has also caught 19 passes for 274 yards and three more scores.
