ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats did not disappoint with their share of top performances this weekend. Fort Valley State's D'liyah Austell, Aquila Kerr and Tania Hall and the 4k Distance Medley Relay captured first place finishes to lead the team at the Morehouse Relays.

Austell raced to the top finish in the 200 meters in a time of 24.61 as the best track FVSU event performance. Kerr leaped her way to the longest distance of 11.32 meters for the triple jump before she added a runner-up finish in the high jump (1.55m) and fourth in the long jump (4.98m). Hall threw the javelin to a winning distance of 27.68 meters.

In the 4k Distance Medley Relay, FVSU's team of Jenna Jones, Austell, Zakayla Starling and Montana Williams crossed the line in 15:56.21.

As a team, FVSU recorded 74 team points for fourth. Albany State won the team title with 197.5 points and Clark Atlanta was second (190.5).

The Wildcats had a pair of other relays do well. In the Sprint Medley Relay, Bridgette Clarke, Kerr, Caly Cage and Austell teamed up for third (5:08.55). For the 4x100-meter relay, FVSU's group of Clarke, Kerr, Cage and Austell grabbed fourth (48.71).

Along with Kerr in the high jump, both Ternya Gibson and Hall added points with tie for fifth at 1.40 meters.

Briana Madison placed in both the 100-meter hurdles (15.43) for seventh and eight in the long jump (4.44m). Montana Williams recorded eighth-place finishes in both the 800 meters (2:46.46) and 1500 meters (6:12.45).

FVSU returns to action next Friday and Saturday (April 5-6) at the University of West Georgia's Legends Invitational.
