FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats have their fall task in front of them. Fort Valley State's new head coach Marlon Watson and his inaugural Wildcat team will have a challenging 2025 schedule in the upcoming football season.
Watson and the Wildcats will face two of the top Gulf South Conference teams, both Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship game participants and enjoy the Wildcat Stadium confines only three times in the 10 contests.
FVSU opens against West Alabama, the No. 3 Seed in the NCAA Division II South Region playoffs, on Saturday evening, Aug. 30, in the Birmingham City Classic played at Legion Field.
After a bye week, the Wildcats travel to Atlanta (Sept. 13) against SIAC runner-up Panthers of Clark Atlanta, before they entertain the second GSC power Delta State at Wildcat Stadium (Sept. 20)
FVSU returns to the road in an always tough foe in Tuskegee University (Sept. 27) before it will host 'Homecoming in The Valley' against Central State on Oct. 4.
The Wildcats trek to the South Carolina capital city for the clash against the Tigers of Benedict College (Oct. 11).
For the second of three classic games, FVSU hosts Savannah State in Augusta, Ga., for the Good Trouble Heritage Classic on Oct. 18.
FVSU completes three weeks away from home in Jackson, Tenn., against Lane College on Oct. 25, before it faces defending SIAC champion Miles College to start November on the 1st.
Rounding out the toughest schedule in recent years, FVSU and Albany State renew their rivalry in the Fountain City Classic in Columbus, Ga., on Nov. 8.
