FORT VALLEY, Ga.- Fort Valley State University men's volleyball (9-9, 5-0 SIAC) take three set win over Central State Unviersity (OH.) (5-14, 4-3, SIAC), Friday evening.
The Wildcats won sets one and two 25-17 and the third set 25-19.
FVSU fell behind 2-0 early in the first set but countered scoring the next two points. There were three, four-point runs for Fort Valley to secure the hefty lead. The first run came at the fourth point, the eighth point and the 21st point.
Much like the first set, the Wildcats fell behind 2-0 then tied it with two points of their own. An eight point run at the 14th point of the set made the difference in the dominant win.
Fort Valley scored first in the third set to take down Central State. The biggest run of the contest came at the 18th point with four consecutive points.
Isaiah Fedd led the offense with 10 kills hitting .316 percent for the match. He also tallied two block assists and six digs on defense.
Taviian Martin had the second most kills with eight and an outstanding .853 percent on the night. He also had a superb day on defense with two solo blocks, four block assists and two digs
Jaxon Hicks and
Raheem Thomas added six kills each to round out the offensive leaders. Thomas also had a good day on defense with a block assist and six digs.
Oshane Farquharson led the assist effort with 21 assists. Constantine Onoye led the defense with 11 digs.
The two squads will close out their two game set Saturday, March 29th at 1 p.m.
