JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Fort Valley State University track & field finish day of the River City Relays, Friday.
On the women's side of the field events FVSU had quite the showing especially
Diamond Richardson. She dominated the hammer throwing event nabbing first place with a 43.98m toss. She bested her closest competitor, Anaya Pugh from Tennessee State University, by almost five meters. Richardson snagged her second 1st place finish of the day in the shot put event. She threw a 13.17m mark besting Pugh yet again this time by over a meter.
Aquila Kerr had a stellar day in the field events as well. She picked up the first place finish jumping for a 1.60m mark in the high jump. She snagged a second place finish in long jump with a 5.68 mark. To cap off the women's field events,
Ariyah Graham placed second in the javelin throw with a 32.16m mark.
The men also had a solid day in the field events.
Solomon Hall highlighted the day for FVSU with a first place finish in shot put with a 13.76m mark. Cornelius Crooks II snagged a second place finish in the long jump with a 6.74m mark.
Christian Ector nabbed one of two third place finishes for the Wildcats. Ector recorded a 3.10m mark in the pole vault event. In the high jump,
Tyler Pendergrass placed third with a 1.80m mark.
Fort Valley with participate in day two of the River City Relays, Saturday.
