ATLANTA, Ga.- Fort Valley State University softball cleans house with Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) weekly awards.
Tenison Myricks was named SIAC Pitcher of the Week.
Jennifer Ramirez was named SIAC Player of the Week.
Myricks threw 15 innings in three appearances to earn a 2-0 record. She only allowed four runs on 10 hits with 19 strikeouts. Myricks also tossed two shutouts and a one it ball game against Clark Atlanta University.
Myricks leads the conference in strikeout victims with 117.
Ramirez had an 8-for-15 week good for a .533 batting average through five games. She accounted four five RBI and eight runs scored as well as a double and triple. Ramirez's best contest was the second game against Clark where she went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI on a double and a triple.
Ramirez leads the conference in hits with 41.
The Wildcats are back in action Saturday, April 5th to host Wesleyan College in doubleheader fashion starting at 1 p.m.
