ALBANY, Ga.- Fort Valley State University track and field traveled to Albany State University for the Alice Coachman Invitational. The men picked up a sixth place finish with 44 point and the women placed fourth with 65 points.
The Wildcat women had an excellent showing with four top three finishes. On the track side,
Briana Madison highlighted the FVSU runners with a first place finish in the 100 meter hurdles recording a 14.70s time.
Diamond Richardson nabbed all top three finishes in the field events. She snagged a first place finish in the hammer throw with a 47.34m sling. Richardson placed first in discus with 36.28m throw. She capped off her outing with a third place finish in shot put with an 11.56m shove.
On the mens side,
Joshua Pearson had the lone top three finish with a third place hammer finish at a 39.87m mark.
The next meet for the Wildcats is the SIAC Championship from April 24th through April 26th.
