ATLANTA, Ga.- Fort Valley State University softball brings home eight All-Conference honors for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), Monday morning.
Leah Leonard was named First Team All-SIAC Third Base and received the prestigious Elite 16 Award. Leonard had a stellar season at the hot corner, batting .348 while slugging .506. She collected 31 hits, good for third in the conference, with six doubles, one triple, and two home runs. Leonard also scored 26 runs, ranking seventh in the SIAC, and added 18 RBIs. Off the field, Leonard's 4.0 GPA earned her the Elite 16 honor, awarded to the student-athlete with the highest academic standing among championship participants

Tenison Myricks collected an impressive trio of honors, being named Utility Player of the Year, First Team All-SIAC Utility, and Second Team All-SIAC Starting Pitcher. Myricks showcased her versatility throughout the season, excelling both offensively and in the circle. At the plate, she batted .349 with a .492 slugging percentage, totaling 22 hits, five doubles, and two triples, ranking seventh in the SIAC. She also scored 12 runs and drove in 12 RBIs. In the circle, Myricks threw 73.1 innings, posting a 2.10 ERA and 1.19 WHIP while holding opponents to a .199 batting average. She recorded 88 strikeouts and ranked sixth in the conference in ERA, fifth in opponent batting average, fourth in innings pitched, and third in both strikeouts and wins.
Jasmin Stewart earned Second Team All-SIAC Outfield honors after an outstanding season. Stewart batted .349 and tallied 29 hits, including eight doubles, five triples, and two home runs, for a .639 slugging percentage. She posted a .438 on-base percentage and a 1.077 OPS. Stewart ranked second in the SIAC in triples, third in doubles, fourth in RBIs, fifth in runs scored, and seventh in walks.
Taylor Watson capped off her season by being named Relief Pitcher of the Year and Second Team All-SIAC Relief Pitcher. Watson posted a 3.59 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over 52.2 innings of work, finishing with a 6-2 record while holding opposing hitters to a .261 batting average.
The Wildcats open the SIAC Tournament in Columbus, Ga., taking on Spring Hill College at 12:30 p.m.
