DECATUR, Ga. – Fort Valley State University Women's Volleyball (4-0) continued the hot start to the 2025 campaign, sweeping Agnes Scott (0-2), 3-0 on Thursday evening.
FVSU wasted no time in the opening set, jumping out to an early eight-point advantage before going on a dominant 17-point run behind the serving of
Dakotah Holmes. The Wildcats allowed just a single point the entire set to claim a 25-1 victory.
The second frame was more of the same, highlighted by a nine-point service run from
Jalena Thompson at the 11th point and a five-point burst from
Antonia Brewer to extend the lead to 15-3.
Morgan Hebert closed the set with a nine-point service run, sealing a commanding 25-5 win.
In the final set, the Wildcats once again set the tone early with three quick points. Brewer then stepped to the line for a seven-point run, building the margin to 12-2. Later,
Sarah Rosario pushed through a five-point stretch from the service line to extend the lead to 20-5. Brewer capped the night with a service ace for the 25-8 match-clinching win.
Brewer paced the offense with seven kills on a stellar .667 hitting percentage, while
Imani Stokes added six kills at an efficient .857 clip and
Aryona Johnston chipped in five kills. Hebert directed the offense with 15 assists, and
Reagan Mann tallied eight more.
Defensively, Rosario anchored the back row with 15 digs, while Brewer (6) and Holmes (5) added solid support. At the service line, Rosario shined with six aces, and Brewer delivered four more.
FVSU will return to action Tuesday, Sept. 23
rd at 6 p.m. in HPE to host Georgia College & State University.
