GARDENDALE, Al- Fort Valley State delivered an exciting week of softball, battling through a challenging slate of opponents with explosive offense, clutch performances, and determined pitching. The Wildcats displayed their resilience by bouncing back from an early setback to secure several impressive victories before closing the week with a pair of tightly contested games.

Tuskegee: A Tough Start

The stretch began on March 10 with a defensive showdown against Tuskegee. The Wildcats were unable to find their rhythm offensively, managing just one hit in an 8–0 loss in a five-inning contest.

Gabrielle Stonecypher kept the game competitive early, but Tuskegee's two home runs proved to be the difference. Despite the tough start, the Wildcats quickly regrouped and set the stage for an offensive breakout later in the day.

Lane: The Bats Wake Up

Fort Valley responded in emphatic fashion against Lane, erupting for a 15–0 shutout victory and showcasing one of their most dominant performances of the week.

The Wildcats' offense came alive with 17 hits, highlighted by a massive eight-run second inning that put the game firmly in FVSU's control. Marley Quammie led the charge, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Jasmine Stewart and Jennifer Ramirez each drove in multiple runs to fuel the offensive surge.

In the circle, Danielle Bacon and Amiyah Morrison combined for a three-hit shutout, striking out four batters while the Wildcats' defense played clean behind them.

Kentucky State: Total Command

Fort Valley carried that momentum into March 11 with an impressive 11–3 victory over Kentucky State giving Head Coach Rufus Green his 100th career win.

After falling behind 3–0 in the second inning, the Wildcats responded with a stunning 11-run explosion in the third, completely shifting the momentum of the game. Jasmine Stewart delivered the highlight of the contest with a towering grand slam to center field, igniting the Wildcats' rally.

Stonecypher earned the win in the circle, pitching 4 innings while allowing just two earned runs and striking out three.

LeMoyne-Owen: Late-Inning Heroics

The Wildcats continued their winning ways later that day with a 10–1 victory over LeMoyne-Owen.

Fort Valley broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning before adding three more runs in the seventh to secure the win. Ramirez played a major role in the offensive effort, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, including a home run.

Bacon and Stonecypher were dominant in the circle, throwing a complete game while allowing only one unearned run on six hits across seven innings.

Miles: An Extra-Inning Thriller

On March 12, Fort Valley found itself in a dramatic extra-inning battle against Miles. The Wildcats and Golden Bears traded punches throughout the contest, with the game tied 4–4 after seven innings before Miles ultimately pulled away for an 8–4 win in the eighth.

Ramirez sparked the offense early with a solo home run in the first inning, and the Wildcats showed their determination by scoring in the seventh to force extra innings.

Bacon delivered a gritty performance in the circle, pitching a complete game and striking out three in a demanding outing.

Spring Hill: A Final Battle

The Wildcats closed the week in another nail-biter against Spring Hill. Trailing 3-1 heading into the sixth inning, Fort Valley mounted an impressive late rally, scoring five runs over the final two innings, but ultimately fell just short in a 7–6 loss.

Marley Quammie and Amira Johnson each recorded doubles, while Zoe Molina drove in two RBIs during the late push that nearly completed the comeback.

Despite the two narrow losses to close the week, Fort Valley State showcased its explosive offensive potential and resilience, highlighted by dominant victories and several clutch performances. With the bats heating up and the pitching staff delivering strong outings, the Wildcats continue to build momentum as they move deeper into conference play.
