After patrolling the middle of the defense and helping the team to a 3-0 week, Laila Hilton of women's volleyball picks up the Wildcat Nation Female Athlete of the Week for Sept. 25-30.
Hilton led the Wildcat attack defeat Wesleyan College (3-1) and sweep past both Central State and Kentucky State (3-0). and take the FVSU record to 9-8 on the season, the most season wins in a decade.
In her efforts, Hilton, a freshman from Denver, Colo., led the squad with 43 kills, hit .269, six blocks, four digs and three service aces.The middle hitter had double-digit kills in each match, including a season-high 17 against Central State. She also recorded 16 winners versus Wesleyan College and added 10 kills against Kentucky State.
