Leading the effort in the Inaugural SoCal vs SIAC Challenge, Chey Cooper of men's volleyball picked up the first Wildcat Nation Men's Athlete of the Week for the 2024 spring semester. The senior outside hitter led the FVSU attack with 20 kills, 13 digs, three assists, a service ace anda block in the three matches against Pepperdine, UCLA and USC to start January.
With five kills and five digs in the opening match against Pepperdine, Cooper pounded 11 winners in 20 attacks with three errors for a .400 hit percentage to go with seven digs in a sold effort against UCLA. He finished the 3-match trip with four kills versus USC.
