Bell Garners SIAC Volleyball Newcomer of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – Highlighted by her best match of the year, Fort Valley State's Nia Bell garnered the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Newcomer of the Week.

With four double-figure kill matches and two double-doubles, the Wildcat junior transfer recorded 71 kills (3.74 kills/set), 46 digs (2.42 digs/set), 11 total blocks and five service aces in 19 sets over four matches. Bell, though, punctuated FVSU's 3-2 road win at Benedict College with 28 kills, 22 digs and three aces to lead the way.

The outside hitter also finished with a double-double last Saturday with 16 kills and 11 digs, before she added 12 kills and nine digs in four sets at Albany State.

For the season, Bell leads the Wildcats with 253 kills (3.42 kills/set), 208 digs (2.81 digs/set), 37 total blocks and 16 aces in her first year with the team.
