FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Wildcats are starting to put together a season to take notice. Rising Fort Valley State readies to host its biggest match in recent years when Albany State comes to campus for Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East top spot.
The two rivals have both made it through the opening two East contests and all seven West crossover matches with identical 7-2 marks in the SIAC match ups.

Live Stats
-----------
FVSU hosts ASU tomorrow night, Tuesday, Oct. 15, in a 6 p.m. first serve in the HPE Arena.
FVSU takes a 9-2 overall record into the meeting, the program's best mark after 11 games in over 16 seasons. In fact, with their next win, the Wildcats will reach double digits in wins for the second year in a row after they finished 11-16 last fall. New head coach Chymaine Guinyard and her squad have their sights set on the program's first winning campaign since a 19-14 record for the 2008 season.
For FVSU to reach the double figure win amount on Tuesday night, it will have to reverse the series trend against ASU. The Lady Rams have claimed the win for 25 of the last 26 matchups. The Wildcats' last victory came in the HPE Arena on Sept. 11 of 2018 when they battled back from down 2-1 with a 25-19 fourth set and then prevailed 16-14 in set five. Last Oct. 6, FVSU came out hot with a 25-14 win in set one, but ASU took the momentum for the next three sets (25-17, 28-27, 25-20).
FVSU heads into Tuesday night on a six-match win streak after it registered four-straight 3-0 sweeps over Wesleyan College, LeMoyne-Owen College, Lane College and Tuskegee. The Wildcats have came away winners in eight of the last nine matches along with the six in a row.
ASU (9-6) went 2-2 in last week's action with a loss at Middle Georgia State (3-2), wins over Lane and Tuskegee, both by 3-0 finals, and then a loss to Spring Hill College (3-0).
