Lady Wildcats Get First Home Win!
By: FVSU Office of Sports Information
The Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Lady Wildcats Volleyball Team got its first win at home this season when they hosted the Lady Panthers of Clark Atlanta University in the HPE Complex last night (September 30th). The win broke a four game losing skid for the Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Wildcats took the first two games of the match by identical scores of 25-13. The 25-13 score would also be the final of the third game of the match but this time it was the Lady Panthers who won the game.
In the third game, the final margin of victory would, again, be 25-13. This time the recurring numbers favored the Lady Wildcats who won the match, 3-1. The win boosted the Lady Wildcats overall record to 3-14.
However, don't let the record deceive you. The long awaited return of Franchesca Long to the Lady Wildcat line up could not have come at a better time. As the Lady Wildcats gear up for the latter half of the season, FVSU still remains a viable contender for this year's Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) volleyball title.
In her season debut last night Long had 8 kills on 13 attempts and four blocks.
