ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats are off to a promising third season on the court. Fort Valley State's saw Isaiah Fedd and Raheem Thomas selected as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week announced on Monday.
The two Wildcat frontline players helped the team post a 1-1 week. FVSU (4-4) fell at Emmanuel College (3-0) early in the week, before it shut out Talladega College on Friday evening by a 3-0 final.
A 2023 All-SIAC First Team selection, Fedd recorded 10 kills with eight digs, four total blocks and an ace in the five sets played. At Emmanuel, the outside hitter had three kills, an ace and a block assist before he pounded seven kills with three total blocks and eight digs in the victory over Talladega.
On the defensive front, Thomas posted six blocks and three digs to go with eight kills in the five sets he was on the court. The graduate student registered five block assists and a dig at Emmanuel, before he led the squad with eight kills to go with two digs and a block over Talladega.
FVSU is now off for the rest of February before it plays host to Central State on Friday night, March 1, in a 5 p.m. first serve.
