ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wildcats have played the toughest early season schedule in the league. Fort Valley State's Isaiah Fedd did not let top competition prevent him from hitting his way to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors.
With four of its nine matches against nationally-ranked foes, Fedd still hit a solid .370 attack percentage with 4.03 kills per set over the 31 sets he played. The junior outside hitter also posted three 20-plus kill matches with a high of 23 kills in a win over Barry University where he hit .514.
Against the four matches with Ohio State, Long Beach State and Grand Canyon, the Apopka, Fla., native averaged 9.2 kills per match. He downed 13 kills versus Ohio State and 10 against Grand Canyon.
Over the nine FVSU (2-7) matches, Fedd leads the Wildcat team with 125 kills in 235 swings, 143 points, 32 digs, 34 total blocks, 11 service aces and seven assists.
FVSU has this week off before it returns to the home court next Wednesday, Feb. 12, in a rematch against Emmanuel College. First serve will be at 6 p.m.
